As part of the activities for the anniversary year, the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, together with the President of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, the Vice-Rector for Education, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Neziri, the Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Dr. Agon Memeti, the Director of the Technological Park, Artina Kamberi, and the Head of the Rector’s cabinet, Valmisa Novi, during their visit to the USA, held a meeting with former American Congressman Joseph DioGuardi and his wife, Shirley Cloyes DioGuardi, as well as other representatives of the Albanian-American Civic League.

The names of the DioGuardi couple are closely tied to the history of the founding of the University of Tetova, which has been accompanied by efforts, labor, pain, and numerous sacrifices, an exceptional case in the history of higher education, not only in the Albanian territory but also beyond. We remember and honor all the contributions of the past that have been inscribed in the eternal pages of the University of Tetova.

During the meeting, there was a discussion specifically about the period of February 1995, regarding the hardships experienced to make the University of Tetova a reality, as a key point in the history of Albanians in general, and especially for Albanians in North Macedonia in particular.
