The Minister of Education and Science, Jeton Shaqiri, today visited the University of Tetova. At UT the Minister was received by the Rector Prof. Dr. Reshat Qahili, Vice Rector for Education, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, Vice Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Shefik Shehu, President of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, General Secretary, Adem Beadini and Prof. Dr. Faton Shabani, professor at the Faculty of Law.
In this working meeting was discussed about the educational-scientific activity developed by the University of Tetova, scientific-research projects, and inter-university cooperation with universities from the country and beyond. “First of all, we congratulate you on your appointment to this department, which is very important for the country, society and general development. We have had also a correct cooperation with the department that you now lead and we believe that we will continue the same cooperation in the future by intensifying institutional relations in many areas, such as education, science, but also in infrastructure investments. Our university concluded the last semester according to the forecasts and we achieved that despite the developments with the Covid-19 pandemic, we have accomplished all the objectives of the teaching process, not leaving aside other activities in the field of scientific research, as well as other activities with interest for higher education “, said the Rector Prof. Dr. Reshat Qahili.
The Rector also informed the Minister about the intensive work carried out by the University of Tetova in research projects, such as conferences and scientific congresses, the publication of regular editions of scientific journals of all faculties, as well as other collaborations in order to advance scientific research. At the end of his speech, the Rector Prof.Dr. Reshat Qaili thanked the Ministry of Education and Science for the completion of works on the construction of the Student Dormitory, which is expected to be at the service of students in the next academic year.
The Minister of Education and Science, Jeton Shaqiri congratulated the leadership of the university for the successful management of the general activity, especially the fullfillment of the teaching-scientific process in all the academic units of UT. The Covid-19 pandemic has made the work of education workers difficult in all cycles, but thanks to the commitment and dedication of the leaders of educational institutions, the first half of the academic year 2021/2022 has been concluded. In this regard, your university deserves to be congratulated for the successful completion of lectures in the winter semester and we wish that this semester that will begin to take place without major obstacles. In his statement to the media, the Minister of Education and Science stated that this university, which is functioning successfully, is progressing and developing now for 27 years, but all others will maintain their enthusiasm in this period of crisis and will continue to create generations from whom we expect to contribute to the development of the country, generations that will be well prepared, will gradually take on the roles of adults and will be carriers of processes and social change.
The visit of the Minister of Education and Science is expected to pave the way for many other projects related to investments in infrastructure, laboratories, and technological equipment in various cabinets at the University of Tetova.
