Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, on March 2, 2026, together with the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Emine Shabani, welcomed in a meeting the Secretary of the League of Albanian Teachers and Parents (LAPSH) “Naim Frashëri” from the Canton of Aargau, Switzerland, Mr. Rexhep Neziri, accompanied by Ms. Besarta Haskaj Balaj, Senior Official for Supplementary Education at the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation of the Republic of Kosovo.
At the center of this meeting was the institutional cooperation for the development of supplementary education in the Albanian language in the diaspora. Concrete steps were also discussed for organizing a scientific conference with the central theme: “The nation, the first identity of Albanians,” as well as the importance of supplementary Albanian language education in preserving national identity among younger generations in the diaspora.
During the meeting, Rector Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli expressed the full readiness of the University of Tetova to support these initiatives, emphasizing that the Albanian language must be cultivated with dedication, especially in the diaspora. He underlined that preserving the language is the main pillar of our national identity and that educational institutions have a moral and national obligation to assist the diaspora in this mission.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of LAPSH, Mr. Rexhep Neziri, presented a brief history of the association and the extensive work carried out in Switzerland to preserve the Albanian language. He emphasized that the League of Albanian Teachers and Parents in Aargau is fully committed to organizing supplementary education, serving as a connecting bridge that prevents assimilation and keeps the national spirit alive among the children of our emigrants.
This meeting will serve as a starting point for joint projects aimed at protecting the Albanian language and culture of our compatriots.
