The Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Enis Jakupi, and the professor of the same faculty, Prof. Dr. Ilir Mehmedi, along with the head of the Office for International Cooperation, Doc. Dr. Hatibe Deari – Zeqiri, welcomed to a working meeting the professors and experts of Mechanical Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Tirana and the University of Prishtina, led by Dr. Parid Alimhillaj from the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the Polytechnic University of Tirana, and Prof. Edmondo Minisci from the Department of Mechanics and Aeronautics, from the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, United Kingdom.
This meeting took place within the framework of the project initiative expected to be carried out by the University of Tetova, Polytechnic University of Tirana, University of Prishtina, University “Mother Teresa” – Skopje, in cooperation with the Polytechnic University of Turin and the University of Strathclyde from the United Kingdom.
The aim of this project is to establish a bachelor’s program in Aeronautical Engineering in the Balkan region, which will serve students from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia, and Montenegro.
This is a long-term strategy aimed at enhancing the skills of professionals in the aviation industry. This program will offer high-quality education and training to students, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in various aspects of the aviation industry, including airport management, air traffic control, aircraft maintenance, etc.
All parties agreed to take on their responsibilities regarding the implementation of this project and with the work, diligence, and professionalism of all involved institutions, the chances are real that this collaboration will be fruitful, especially for students and educators in the Western Balkans.
