At the premises of the University of Tetova, on April 22, 2026, a cooperation agreement was signed between the University of Tetova and the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova, with the aim of advancing academic, scientific, and professional cooperation between the two higher education institutions.
The agreement was signed by the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, and the Rector of the “Fehmi Agani” University in Gjakova, Asst. Prof. Dr. Drilon Bunjaku, as confirmation of their shared commitment to deepening cooperation in line with European higher education standards and the principles of the Bologna Process.
The purpose of this agreement is to develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including scientific research, the development of study programs, and the enhancement of professional capacities. In this regard, the parties aim to create new opportunities for the exchange of academic knowledge and experience.
The cooperation will focus on the implementation of joint research projects, the mobility of students and academic staff, the development of joint study programs, as well as the organization of various conferences, seminars, and training sessions. Particular importance will also be given to joint applications for international programs such as Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe.
This partnership is expected to bring numerous benefits to both universities, contributing to the improvement of teaching and research quality, the internationalization of studies, as well as the expansion of academic and professional opportunities for students and staff. In addition, the agreement contributes to strengthening inter-university cooperation at the regional level and promoting the exchange of best practices.
The rectors shared the same view that, in the future, a joint nationwide program should also be organized with all Albanian-speaking universities for student mobility.
