University of Tetova and the University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Bitola (June 2-3, 2025) organized the International Scientific Conference with the topic: “Towards a Secure European Space in a Globalized World: The Security – Rule of Law Nexus”. In his welcoming speech, the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, emphasized the role that UT has played over the years as a center of knowledge, the promotion of interethnic coexistence, and its commitment to the values of democracy, equality, and social justice.
“Our efforts for inclusivity and social cohesion are not only a value but a strategy for strengthening internal stability and advancing the Euro-Atlantic aspirations of the Republic of North Macedonia,” said the rector of the UT, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli.
Rector of the UT also praised the cooperation with the University “St. Kliment Ohridski” as evidence of their commitment to building an academic space where knowledge, politics, and society interact in the service of a more sustainable future.
The conference brought together academics, researchers, representatives of public institutions and diplomats from the country and the region to discuss security challenges and the importance of the rule of law in building a more stable and integrated Europe, such as Zoran Dimitrovski, Deputy Foreign Minister and Foreign Trade of the Republic of North Macedonia, Prof. Dr. Igor Nedelkovski, Rector of the University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Bitola, Petra Drexler, Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to North Macedonia, Ben Nupnau, Deputy Head of the Delegation of the European Union to North Macedonia.
The conference provided a platform for in-depth discussions on the political, social, and technological challenges that directly impact the region, as well as for sharing best practices for building a safer, more just, and united Europe.
