The University of Tetova, through the Faculty of Philosophy, marked World Philosophy Day today with a solemn event, where prominent figures of academic and philosophical thought emphasized the importance of this discipline in the development of society and in the protection of human freedom.

Present at the event were researchers, professors, students, and guests from various humanities fields. In his welcoming speech, the Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, emphasized that philosophy has historically served as a strong critique against any form of violence and restriction of freedom. According to him, in every era, philosophy has played the role of a voice that challenges injustice and defends human liberty.

The renowned academic Ferid Muhiq emphasized that philosophy is one of the oldest pillars of human knowledge and remains the foundation of rational reflection. He also highlighted that philosophy is a way to understand the world and oneself, a discipline that has accompanied humanity for thousands of years.

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Metin Izeti spoke about the importance of preserving the philosophical dimension of humanity in the face of the risks posed by the technocratic reduction of the human being. He further added that when a person is separated from philosophy, they risk losing their identity and becoming a mere instrument. Philosophy protects dignity and restores a person to themselves.

The event concluded with open discussions, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and participate in shared reflections on the role of philosophy in modern times.

Through these events, the University of Tetova reaffirms its mission to promote critical thinking, knowledge, and the universal values of humanism.
