On May 6, 2020, doctoral student Mr. Sc. Adelina Rakaj defended her doctoral dissertation, on topic: “The rights of the defendant in criminal procedure – the case of Kosovo” and award the scientific degree Doctor of Law in the field: History of the state.
The defense of the dissertation was carried out through the online platform Google Meet, based on Article 3 of the Decree with legal force for the implementation of the Law on Higher Education during the state of emergency (Official Journal of the Republic of North Macedonia, no. 76, dated March 24, 2020), while all interested parties were enabled to attend, with a preliminary submission to the e-mail address: doktoratura@unite.edu.mk.
Commission for the defense of the doctoral dissertation, composed of: Prof. Dr. Afrim Osmani – chairman, Prof. Dr. Qebir Avziu – member, Prof. Dr. Arta Bilalli-member, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli-member, Prof. Dr. Ismail Zendeli and mentor Prof. Dr. Fatmire Lumani, highly praised the dissertation and research work of the candidate during her doctoral studies. Adelina Rakaj was born in Prizren, on October 4, 1987, she completed her basic studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina with great success, in 2009, where she received the student award distinguished from the University of Prishtina. She enrolled in postgraduate studies in 2009, at the Faculty of Law of the University of Prishtina. In May successfully defended her master’s thesis and awarded the scientific degree “Master of Criminal Law”.
In October 2015, Adelina Rakaj started working as an assistant engaged at the Faculty of Law at the University of Prizren “Ukshin Hoti”, in subjects legal – criminal, where it continues today. She has been an assistant at other public universities and private colleges in Kosovo and has published scientific papers in the field of criminal and criminal procedure, in local and international journals.
