At the Faculty of Applied Sciences (FAS), was held a theoretical-practical lecture on the topic “Firefighting and fire protection training”, and was organized in cooperation with the company MATO, which produces additives and coatings for construction materials, as well as for the relevant units of emergency services.

The goal of this activity was to raise awareness and train students for fire intervention, as well as for designing buildings that are resistant to this phenomenon. During this training, various methods for fire prevention were presented, and firefighting techniques were demonstrated, with the aim of providing students with practical knowledge for managing emergency situations.

The Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Enis Jakupi, emphasized the importance of integrating fire protection knowledge into study programs.

“In certain courses at the FAS, in addition to preparing students for design, we also prepare them for designing fire protection systems. Fire is a phenomenon that often occurs in buildings, with many causes, and our goal is that, in addition to methods for extinguishing fires, we also teach them how to protect buildings so that fire never occurs in the first place”, said the Dean of this academic unit.

He added that students learn about the use of construction materials treated with special additives that reduce fire risk. Such training sessions are held every academic year and are part of the ongoing efforts of FAS to prepare new, skilled, and aware professionals for the safety of the built environment and the well-being of the community.
