At the Faculty of Philology of the University of Tetova, on June 11, 2025, was promoted the 7th issue of the student magazine “Përtej”, a publication by the students of the study program of the Albanian Language and Literature.
The editor-in-chief of this magazine, Altina Sulejmani, in her speech to the participants at this promotion, stated that this new issue brings rich content with various sections such as “Nën thjerrëz”, “Ura”, “Kënga e hapur”, “Intervistë”, “Portret”, and others, which address important cultural, linguistic, and literary themes from the perspective of the new generation. She further mentioned that the magazine remains an open window for all students who wish to write, research, and challenge themselves through creativity. At the center of this publication is an interview with the writer and translator Besnik Mustafaj, who shares his literary experience and his relationship with writing. Meanwhile, the “Portret” section was dedicated to Prof. Dr. Fadil Sulejmani, a distinguished figure in Albanian linguistics, who, with his contributions, has left a profound mark on the study and teaching of the Albanian language. Another special moment was the honoring of the giant of Albanian literature, Ismail Kadare, on the anniversary of his passing. According to Altina Sulejmani, the magazine dedicated the “Përshpirtje” section to him, emphasizing that his works and influence will always remain alive among us.
During the promotion of the magazine “Përtej”, a welcoming speech was also delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Berton Sulejmani, who emphasized the importance of this magazine as a testament to the spiritual continuity of young creators and a free space for student thought and expression. He urged the students to continue writing, considering their words as the future of Albanian literature. Meanwhile, the Head of the Albanian Language and Literature program at the Faculty of Philology, Albulena Dehari, congratulated the students for the work they have done and at the same time expressed her appreciation and gratitude to all the students who have contributed to this magazine over the years, from the first issue published in 2013 to the most recent one.
As part of this promotion, Prof. Dr. Vjollca Berisha briefly spoke about Kadare and his literary work, as well as his place in literature.
The promotion was conducteda with the support of the Student Parliament, which financially assisted in bringing this publication to light, ensuring the continuation of an important platform for the cultural and intellectual development of young people.
