In an academic atmosphere at the Pedagogical Faculty of the University of Tetova, was promoted the new book by the author Sherif Sulejmani, titled “The educational philosophy of proverbs (Filozofia edukuese e fjalëve të urta)”.
The event was opened by the Dean of the Pedagogical Faculty, Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi, who spoke on behalf of the university’s leadership and praised this work as a profound reflection of wisdom. ‘This book is not just a new publication, it is a treasure of wisdom, a bridge between our rich tradition and the contemporary needs of education. Proverbs, as the author expertly highlights, are capsules of time, carriers of experiences across generations, offering valuable guidance for life and society. Through this work, the author has managed to systematize and analyze this precious wealth, turning it into a valuable resource for students, educators, and every reader seeking to deepen their understanding of education from a broader perspective”, – emphasized Prof. Dr. Lulzim Mehmedi. A deep and evaluative analysis of the book was provided by the reviewer Prof. Dr. Dashmir Idrizi, who stated that the author Sherif Sulejmani has crafted a work that transcends the boundaries of an academic study. ‘The book is not simply a tribute to Albanian proverbs, but a philosophical journey that encourages readers to pause and reflect on the power of words. The author of the book, Mr. Sherif Sulejmani, thanked all those present for their support and interest. In his speech, he explained that the goal of his work was not simply to compile proverbs, but to offer a deeper and more philosophical treatment of them. “The book attempts to give Albanian proverbs a deeper philosophical and educational meaning, placing them alongside the traditions of wisdom from other world cultures – from ancient East to modern Western thought. Moreover, at the end of each chapter, I have included reflection exercises and questions aimed at helping readers think about how these values can be applied in their daily lives”, – said among other things the author of the book, Sherif Sulejmani.
At the conclusion of the event, the importance of promoting works that bring cultural heritage to the forefront and place it in the context of today’s educational and philosophical needs was emphasized. The promotion of this book at the University of Tetova demonstrates the institution’s commitment to fostering critical thinking, preserving cultural identity, and advancing knowledge in society.
