At the University of Tetova, was organized an informational event to present scholarship and educational exchange programs offered by the Embassy of the United States of America in Skopje. The activity aimed to inform students and academic staff about opportunities for study, scientific research, and professional development in the United States of America.

On this occasion, representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Skopje also held a meeting with the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, and his team. The meeting was attended by Charles M. Santiago Morales, Education and Cultural Affairs Attaché at the U.S. Embassy, as well as Mr. Gazmend Ilazi, Exchange and Alumni Coordinator at the U.S. Embassy in our country. During the meeting, discussions focused on the importance of cooperation and expanding opportunities for students and academic staff to benefit from scholarship and educational exchange programs supported by the Government of the United States of America.

After the meeting, an informational session was held with students and academic staff, where the presentation of the programs was delivered by Mr. Gazmend Ilazi. During the presentation, numerous opportunities offered by academic and professional exchange programs supported by the U.S. Government were introduced. The prestigious Fulbright Program for postgraduate and postdoctoral studies was presented in detail, enabling graduate students and young researchers to pursue master’s studies or carry out research projects at American universities. In this context, it was emphasized that applications for the 2027–2028 academic year are open until May 31, 2026, and that applications are submitted electronically through the program’s official platform.

As part of the activity, professors from the University of Tetova, Asst. Dr. Gjeraqina Leka and Prof. Dr. Arianit Reka, also shared their personal experiences as recipients of international scholarships, having been beneficiaries of academic exchange programs in the United States of America. They shared their academic and professional experiences with the attendees, highlighting the importance of these programs for professional development, expanding international cooperation, and gaining new experiences in an international academic environment.

Participants were also informed about other important exchange and professional development programs, such as the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program, the Community Solutions Program, the Young Transatlantic Innovative Leaders Initiative (YTILI), the Community Engagement Exchange (CEE), as well as other programs that offer opportunities for the development of professional capacities and leadership skills.

This activity was well received by the students and academic staff of the University of Tetova, who showed interest in the opportunities offered by these prestigious international programs.
