On June 11-12, 2025, the First International Conference on Arts and Education – ICAE 2025 was held at the University of Arts in Tirana. This event was attended by researchers from various fields such as visual arts, design, music, theater, and pedagogy, with the aim of exploring new paths for interdisciplinary collaboration and deepening international dialogue in the fields of arts and education. At the conference, the Faculty of Arts at the University of Tetova was represented with dignity by two vice-deans, who contributed with presentations reflecting contemporary directions in artistic research.
Professor, Nora Halimi, Vice-Dean for Science at the Faculty of Arts and also a member of the organizing committee of the First International Conference on Arts and Education, was part of the panel for the first session on visual arts. She presented a paper titled: “The convergence of art and graphic design: An interdisciplinary approach to include the diversity of visual srts in graphic design education”, where she analyzed the ways in which artistic experiences and design practices can be intertwined to foster a more inclusive and creative approach in the process of graphic design education.
Prof. Dr. Jëlldëz Asani, Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Arts, was part of the panel for the third session on visual arts and contributed with a paper titled: “Taboos and Voyeurism as (auto)censorship in the representation of the female body in Albanian visual arts,” where she addressed critical approaches to the representation of the female body in Albanian art, highlighting the tensions between cultural taboos, internal censorship, and expressive freedoms in contemporary artistic creation. Additionally, Professor Jëlldëz Asani donated her two latest publications to the University Library, an act that was formalized during her meeting with the Rector of the University of Arts in Tirana, Prof. Dr. Erald Bakalli, as well as the Vice-Rector, Prof. Arian Paço.
The participation of the two professors in this international scientific gathering is a testament to the commitment of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Tetova to be an active part of the latest academic and artistic developments, as well as to build bridges of collaboration with institutions from the region and beyond.
