The biography of Prof. Dr. Ramiz Abdyli was presented by Prof. Dr. Qerim Dalipi: “He was the chief editor of several scientific journals in North Macedonia, Kosovo, and Albania. Professor Ramiz was not only a professor and researcher; he was a guiding light for generations of students. With his passion for the history of the Albanian people, his patience in explaining issues, and the simplicity that characterizes great people, he left an indelible mark on the academic life of the University of Tetova, the Institute for Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of the Albanians in Skopje, and the Institute of History ‘Ali Hadri’ in Prishtina. As colleagues, we remember him with respect for his utmost dedication. He was a man of work, principles, and honesty. Every conversation with him was a lesson, every debate an opportunity to learn something new. He treated the university and the institute as a ‘House of Knowledge,’ giving everything to maintain high academic standards. For students, he was more than a professor; he was a mentor who encouraged them to ask questions, think critically, and achieve solid scientific results. He believed in the power of education to advance the position of Albanians in North Macedonia and conveyed this belief in every lecture. Professor Ramiz Abdyli has passed away physically, but the legacy he leaves behind-his scientific works, the students he educated, and his human example – will live on. We will always remember his modesty, his smile, his wisdom, and his readiness to help”.
On behalf of the Abdyli family spoke his son, Kastriot Abdyli. He thanked the University of Tetova for organizing this event, which shows that he left behind friends and colleagues who do not forget him. He also added that, as a family, they feel proud of their father, husband, grandfather, and head of the family.
The work and dedication of Prof. Dr. Ramiz Abdyli will remain a clear guide to how an intellectual engages with dignity and responsibility in the pursuit of major national objectives.
