Last week, from October 12-15, 2022, the University of Bucharest hosted the international Congress, on the topic: “Dialogue and cooperation in the Black Sea and Balkan regions”. This congress brought together the two largest academic organizations of the regions, respectively BSUN-Black Sea University Network and BUA-Association of Balkan Universities.

The University of Tetova is one of the initiators and founders of BUA, a network that today counts almost 80 member universities. The Congress addressed important issues related to cooperation between the two regions, taking into account the complex context in which these two regions took place. He also addressed the necessity for the internationalization of universities, presenting to the audience the strategies, experiences and common tools aimed at the development of higher education based on sound values.

From the University of Tetova, the President of the Senate, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti, Vice-Rector for International Cooperation, Prof. Dr. Shefik Shehu, Vice-Rector for Science, Prof. Dr. Hazir Pollozhani and the head of the Office for Science and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Agon Memeti.

Vice-rector Shehu referred to the challenges of the internationalization of universities, revealing the experiences of the University of Tetova. The leaders of our University also participated in the regular session of the BUA General Assembly.

Within the framework of the Congress, Vice-Rector Shehu signed a cooperation agreement with the University of Bucharest, represented by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Mugur Dan-Zlotea.
