With the support of the University of Tetova, respectively Faculty of Medical Sciences, as well as the University of Medicine in Tirana and the Faculty of Medical Sciences in Prishtina, was founded the Albanian Association of Morphologists and Anatomists. This Association was founded after numerous discussions and debates that took place between physicians, surgeons, and anatomists, and not only during the proceedings of the 3rd International Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Tetova, which for the period of three days was held in Ohrid.
To the creation of this association strong support gave the Rector of University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti and the Rector of the University of Medicine in Tirana, Prof. Dr. Arben Gjata, who at the meeting held on November 10, 2018 in Ohrid, emphasized that they will be available to this association by supporting it constantly. “The initiative for the foundation of the Albanian Association at the regional level is to be greeted and supported. “University of Tetova will be in constant readiness to help this association, which will have professors from all Albanian universities in its membership. The founding of this association should have been done on time, but better late than never. This will be a good opportunity for academic staff, anatomists, physiologists, surgeons, and others in the field of medicine to cooperate, prepare and implement various projects that will apply in various international organizations, and we as a society will only follow the path of the civilized people”- said the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti.
“This initiative is wonderful, we as institutions have often exchanged views on the possibilities of integrating or harmonizing nomenclatures of all courses programs, of basic formation and the idea of foundation of the Albanian Association of morphologists, anatomists, histologists, or even anatomical pathologists. After all, the nucleus of the word has morphology and as a nationwide association for me is a wonderful idea and we will support this Association, with all our capacities, as a University of Medicine in Tirana, because all three Faculties will have a joint program and this will be very useful to our students” – said the Rector of the University of Medicine in Tirana, Prof. Dr. Arben Gjata.
At the meeting held for the foundation of the Albanian Association of Morphologists and Anatomists, with an anonymous decision of all participants was elected the Provisional Presidency of the Association, with the President Prof. Dr. Sadi Bexheti and two Vice-Presidents, Prof. Dr. Artur Hafizi and Prof. Dr. Hilmi Dauti, from the University of Prishtina, while a secretary was elected Dr. med. Selim Çerkezi.
After the election of the Provisional Presidency of the Association, its President, Prof. Dr. Sadi Bexheti said that, within a short period of time, he and other members will be committed to prepare the Statute of the Association as soon as possible, by holding meetings, such as in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia, for defining the statute on how this association will function in the future. “Founders of the association are all the associations that have to do with surgery and we won’t stop them from becoming members of association. The purpose of the foundation of association is that our membership in the federation of anatomy, enables us to buy scientific journals, buy terminology books at a much lower price, get the information on time, at the same time are made changes of such terminology to inform all doctors and international communication be in Latin as much as possible, all these processes will elaborated in paper that we will include within the statute of the Association and distribute it to all doctors and colleagues who want to become its members. No doubt that this will be an Association which will have its base at the University of Tetova” – said the President of the Albanian Association of Morphologists and Anatomists, Prof. Dr. Sadi Bexheti.
The foundation of the association was supported by many other personalities of the field of medicine.
