Students of the Study Program of Journalism of the Faculty of Law of the University of Tetova, accompanied by some students of the Faculty of Physical Education, together with their professors, Prof. Dr. Dashmir Idrizi and Prof. Dr. Astrit Memia, on Thursday, made an official visit to the Republic of Albania.
The aim of this visit was for our students to become more familiar with the practical work in the institutions of the Republic of Albania, declared Prof. Dr. Dashmir Idrizi, and what has been taught to them during the past 4 years in theory, the students can also see in practice; to get to know the work on television, such as TVSH, and Top-Chanel, then a visit to the Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA), which has a tradition of over 100 years.
Initially, the students were welcomed by the President of the Republic of Albania, Bajram Begaj, who welcomed the students and promised them cooperation in the future. He said that the future is in your hands and the doors of the presidency will always be open to the students of the University of Tetova, as it is an institution that has its foundations with blood and was created with great sacrifice.
There were also questions from the students, which had to do with the current situation in North Macedonia, Albania and the Balkan region in general. It is worth noting that students of the UT were the first external visitors who visited the President of state since his commitment in duty.
Afterwards, the students visited the Palace of Brigades, otherwise known as the residence of King Ahmet Zogu, where they were welcomed by the director, Elmiara Xhula, who accompanied them and enabled the UT students to get to know every corner of the building, also she even showed to them the fanatically guarded broken mirror of King Zog’s room, which had been cracked as a result of one of the assassinations attempts on him.
Our students, during their visit to Tirana, had a fruitful meeting with the Head of the Parliament of Albania, Migeba Dushku, who enabled the students to get to know almost all the halls of the legislative commissions of the Parliament, where they finally exchanged opinions about the work and the progress of the sessions of the parliamentary committees of the Assembly of Albania.
The visit to the Albanian Television and the Albanian Agency increased the curiosity of the students, who got to know how they functioned in the time of the monist system and how the mediums function today. The chief editor of AT, Mimoza Haxhia, and that of ATA, Almarina Gegvataj, described in detail the work in these national media and at the same time talked about their digitalization.
They said that these national media operate in permanent cooperation with media in the Balkans and in the world.
At the end of the visit, the journalism students had the chance to visit the national satellite television Top-Chanel, which is considered one of the first independent mediums in Albania. Students were welcomed by the responsible editor, Erina Matraxhiu, who accompanied the students throughout their stay at Top Chanel, after presenting them the editing points, the studios where took place the live news, debate shows, etc.
She also showed the students the broadcast studios, such as: E diela, Pesë në pesë, Përputhen, Big Brother.
The students had the opportunity to visit the Institute for good governance, where they were welcomed by the Director, Arben Çejku, who was previously the ambassador of Albania to the Republic of North Macedonia, with whom they exchanged opinions about the current situation in Albania and beyond.
Thus, was concluded a successful activity of the students of journalism of the University of Tetova in the institutions and media of the Republic of Albania.
