As part of the Erasmus+ program, the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition welcomed Prof. Dr. Neriman Inanç from “Nuh Naci Yazgan” University in Kayseri, Turkey. During her visit, Professor Inanç gave a lecture on the topic: “The current state of nutrition in Turkey and an introduction to Turkish traditional cuisine”.

In her lecture, she provided a detailed overview of the current trends in nutrition in Turkey, the challenges faced by the population in terms of health and nutrition, as well as public policies aimed at improving lifestyle through healthy eating. Furthermore, the professor presented the key elements of Turkish traditional cuisine, highlighting the most characteristic foods from different regions of Turkey, traditional preparation methods, and the role food plays in culture and national identity.

The event was also greeted by the Dean of the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition, Prof. Dr. Xhezair Idrizi, who emphasized the importance of international collaborations within the Erasmus+ framework, as well as their role in the exchange of academic and cultural experiences. He expressed gratitude for Professor Inanç’s presence and highlighted the faculty’s willingness to deepen collaborations with other higher education institutions from the region and beyond.

The lecture attracted the attention of students and academic staff at our university and opened new opportunities for collaboration in the field of food technology and nutrition.
