As part of the IOM project “Support for the return of talents and engagement of the diaspora in North Macedonia”, on October 7, 2025, a delegation from the University of Tetova (UT) carried out an official visit to the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala.
The purpose of the visit was to become familiar with international best practices in higher education, scientific research, and digitalization, as well as to strengthen inter-university cooperation.
The participants first visited the SLU University Library, learned about the SLU Global initiatives, and took part in activities at the Teaching and Digitalization Unit (EPU).
The delegation of the University of Tetova consisted of Prof. Dr. Kenan Ferati, President of the Senate of the UT, and Prof. Dr. Erhan Sulejmani, Professor at the Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition. They took part in discussions about opportunities for joint research projects and academic exchanges.
During the meetings at SLU, both parties agreed to organize joint courses in the future between the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences and the Faculty of Food Technology of the UT.
On October 9, the delegation continued its visit to the University of Ljubljana, where it was welcomed by representatives of the rectorate and Slovenian academic institutions. The program included presentations on internationalization policies, student mobility, and the development of research projects.
At the Center “Rog”, the delegation also met with members of the academic diaspora from North Macedonia in Slovenia, with whom they discussed opportunities for cooperation and the promotion of professional networking. The activity was attended by professors and researchers from the University of Ljubljana and the Jožef Stefan Institute, who shared experiences and ideas for future collaborative projects.
These visits represent an important step toward establishing a sustainable platform for international cooperation, contributing to the exchange of knowledge, innovation, and joint scientific development.
