Faculty of Food Technology and Nutrition of the University of Tetova, on 23 April 2026, carried out a study visit to the “MAYA” water production and treatment plant, with the aim of advancing students’ practical knowledge by combining theoretical preparation with professional application in the field of the food industry and water technology.

As part of this visit, students and academic staff were directly introduced to the technological processes of water treatment and processing, including filtration stages, quality control, as well as the implementation of relevant safety and quality standards in the industry.

The visit was conducted under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Namik Durmishi, in collaboration with PhD. Durim Alija and MSc. Rejhana Luma, who contributed to the professional guidance of the students and to deepening their understanding of the practical application of academic knowledge.

During the visit, the delegation was received by the chief technologist of the factory, at the same time a former student of this faculty, MSc. Arsim Iseni, who presented in detail the technological processes carried out at the plant and shared his professional experience with the students, offering a concrete example of professional development in this field.

The cooperation and hospitality shown by the company “MAYA” demonstrated the importance of interinstitutional collaboration between higher education and the industrial sector, in support of preparing new professional and competitive staff for the labor market.
