The students of the Faculty of Philosophy, in cooperation with the Project Office of the University of Tetova, on April 25, 2019 presented the project: “Albanian subcultures in the cities of the western part of the Republic of North Macedonia”.
According to the organizer, Ass. Prof. Ardita Abduli, the project aims to introduce the Albanian mini-cultures, which are part of a cultural whole. “The idea lies in the fact that with the presentation of the elements of these mini-cultures we inform the audience that within a nation there are cultural differences that determine the different provinces. Although the Albanian culture is a whole, which includes the Albanian people in all its ethnic lands, in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Montenegro, we know that each city with its surroundings, regardless of the common language and origin as a nation, differs from others by some customs, such as language dialects, clothing, traditions, songs, dances, rituals, some types of foods that essentially belong to the cultural variation called subculture, ” emphasized Ass. Prof. Ardita Abduli.
She also added that the purpose of this project is focused on exposing some of these sub-cultural elements, which include the cities in the western part of North Macedonia, namely the cities of Kumanovo, Skopje, Tetovo, Gostivar, Kicevo, Debar, Struga etc, as well-known cities for their cultural characteristics. This project was realized by students of the aforementioned cities, who study in the faculties of the University of Tetova.
