The Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, together with his associates, welcomed the Governor of the National Bank of the Republic of North Macedonia, Dr. Anita Angellovska-Bezhoska, accompanied by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Fadil Bajrami. On this occasion, the University of Tetova and the National Bank of North Macedonia signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of education and research.

According to this agreement, the National Bank and the University of Tetova will cooperate in the development of new study programs to address the needs of monetary and macroeconomic policy and the banking system. This will be achieved through the organization of meetings, round tables, consultations, and expertise regarding projects of interest to the signatories. Another important point is the exchange of information about activities and events organized by local and international organizers, providing opportunities for participation and cooperation.

In addition to the aforementioned activities, an important aspect of this cooperation involves the exchange of resources and participation in conferences, seminars, and workshops organized by the signatories or at a broader level with other entities inside and outside the Republic of North Macedonia. These activities are in the common interest of the signatories.

After the signing of the memorandum, a panel discussion was held at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tetova on the topic: “Empowering of women in finance – shattering the glass ceiling”.

For the aforementioned activity, the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, highlighted that in addition to its core functions of teaching, education, research, and scientific processes, the University of Tetova also organizes panel discussions to contribute through its professors, experts, and collaborations with other institutions. “This panel discussion will be highly beneficial for students, academic and administrative staff, as well as citizens. It will provide insights into current developments, measures, and challenges that we all must collectively address”- said the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli.

The Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Brikend Aziri, stated that the primary objective of this panel discussion is to assess the level of women’s representation in the business world, understand the reasons for the low representation, and propose strategies for improvement. These strategies could be implemented in the short or medium term.

The panel discussion included speakers such as Dr. Anita Angellovska-Bezhoska, Governor of the National Bank of North Macedonia; Gzime Fejzi from Fejzi company & ECNWM; Ivan Shteriev, Chief Executive Officer of the Macedonian Stock Exchange; Nora Aliti, President of the Securities and Exchange Commission; and Asst. Prof. Dr. Vjollca Hasani-Limani, Vice-Dean for Education at the Faculty of Economics, University of Tetova.
