On June 16 and 17, 2021, the Association of Signatories of the Bologna Declaration, Magna Charta Universitatum Observatory, organized its next anniversary. University of Tetova is a signatory and active member of this important institution of higher education. This year’s anniversary, even though without a physical presence, marked an important step for all signatories from around the world. The Magna Charta Universitatum Observatory rewrote the original 1988 statement and titled it MCU 2020.
This statement does not detract from any of the fundamental values enshrined in the core document, such as academic freedom and institutional autonomy, but emphasizes the efforts that universities must make in dealing with contemporary challenges and concerns. It also recognizes the increasingly global nature of what universities represent and the local responsibilities they have.
Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, based on the values of this Declaration and the vision and mission represented by the University of Tetova, signed this Declaration on April 5, 2021. The disclosure of this act was presented exactly on this anniversary in which the University of Tetova was represented by the Vice-Rector for International Relations, Prof. Dr. Shefik Shehu.
