Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, accompanied by the Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FNSM), Prof. Dr. Florim Idrizi, the Vice-Dean for Science of the FNSM, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Jashari, the Head of the Physics Study Program, Prof. Dr. Kimet Jusufi, Prof. Dr. Bashkim Ziberi, and MSc. Nermine Muradi from the same study program, as well as the Head of the Office for International Relations, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hatibe Deari Zeqiri, held a working meeting with the President of IPPOG (International Particle Physics Outreach Group), Dr. Steven Goldfarb, a professor at the University of Melbourne, a scientist at CERN, and in the ATLAS experiment, who is engaged in the promotion of science and particle physics.

The purpose of this meeting was to consider the possibility of the University of Tetova joining this global network of scientists, educators, and science communicators, which aims to bring the field of particle physics closer to the public. During the meeting, a preliminary agreement was signed for the University of Tetova’s membership in this international network for the promotion of science and particle physics.

After the meeting, Prof. Dr. Steven Goldfarb delivered a motivational lecture to the students of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (FNSM) on the topic: “Engaging the World through LHC Research.” He focused on the contribution of the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) to the most significant scientific discoveries, as well as on the impact of technologies developed through this research on everyday life and on understanding the origin of the universe. He also encouraged students to pursue scientific research, develop innovative ideas, and contribute to projects with global reach and direct impact on the economic and technological development of society.
