March 20, World Oral Health Day was marked with the motto “Act on oral health” at the University of Tetova. In honor of this day, the Scientific Group of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, led by Doc. Dr. Arbëresha Bexheti – Ferati, together with the Student Parliament, organized several activities aimed at informing the public in our country about the importance that should be devoted to oral health or mouth diseases.
The students of Dentistry divided into several groups, made short presentations about oral health diseases in front of the students of several schools: in the elementary school “Fan Noli” in village Trebosh of Zhelina municipality, and Municipal Primary Schools “Migjeni” and “Cyril and Methodius” in Tetovo.
During the meeting with primary school students, dentistry students presented them with methods of brushing teeth, care for oral hygiene and oral health in general, foods to be consumed, making comparisons between teeth-damaging and those that do not harm them. Symbolically, students distributed to students some gifts like toothbrushes and toothpaste as well as leaflets with detailed information about oral health.
The central event of the World Oral Health Day was concluded with the lecture of the university professor, Doc. Dr. Kenan Ferati, who presented to the students and professors his lecture entitled “A healthy mouth and a healthy body go together” as well as with the presentation of professional prospects of Prof. Dr. Lutfi Zylbearit, Vice-Dean for Science and Doc. Dr. Jetmire Alimani – Jakupi, Head of the Dentistry Study Program.
