“Today, as never before, we start the new academic year in completely new circumstances, as a result of the global Covid-19 pandemic. The whole world today faces the challenge and risk of public health and the serious crisis that has affected many other sectors. The world has known other epidemics and pandemics, but it must be said how ever before poor and rich countries were mobilized, professors and students, artists and activists, craftsmen and merchants, athletes and businessmen, in the most sublime cause to escape from the plague of 2020. In this global challenge, it is certainly up to the Universities to lead this battle that threatens all of humanity. “Dear student, Today, in strict compliance with the protocols of the health authorities and the measures against Covid-19, we have opened the doors of our 13 academic units for young students. Therefore, on behalf of the University and the academic staff, from this square, We welcome you and we wish you a good and successful start to the academic year 2020/2021, also I take this opportunity to express my gratitude to thank the young students, who with their full confidence chose our University to study in the faculties and study programs within them”, said Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti.

The University of Tetova “Fadil Sulejmani”, today marks the beginning of lectures for the 26th generation of students. “This is a historic achievement for our nation and the history of higher education in the Albanian language. For almost three decades, our university has become the main center of education and science for the youth of our country, but also for those from the Presevo Valley, the Republic of Kosovo, the Republic of Albania and the Albanian diaspora. For 26 years, this temple of knowledge, as our nation calls it, has followed with extraordinary devotion the path and dream of our renaissance. On this occasion, I would like to remind you once again, dear students and parents, that the path traversed by our University has not been easy at all, but we resisted with dignity the difficulties of the time.

This educational-scientific institution, for 26 years in a row has given an extraordinary contribution, not only for the education of generations, but has been and will remain a historical fortress in defense of our national cause “, said the Rector, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti.

At the end of his speech, he focused on the studies, conditions and opportunities that UT offers to students. “Our university offers quality studies and diplomas accepted abroad, where you can pursue further studies, or get involved in work according to your qualification and professional preparation. By decision of the Senate, we award scholarships each year to the excellent students of our University, who during their studies manage to meet the required criteria. The awarding of scholarships has encouraged students, increased competitiveness and provided success in the qualification of lawyers, doctors, professors, excellent engineers and other staff necessary for the economic development of the country and the general social progress. The implementation of the meritocracy system, the motivation of our young people to work and deepen their studies has given its effects in all segments of the educational activity at the University of Tetova.
