Women’s Volleyball Club of the University of Tetova within the eighth week of competition (30. 11. 2018), of women’s volleyball championship in the first Macedonian league, played as a guest against “Uskana” volleyball club from Kichevo.
The match ended in favor of University of Tetova students, who won 1: 3 in sets. With this victory VC “University of Tetova” reaches the 10-point quota and is positioned in sixth place in the table ranking.
Club Manager, Doc. Dr. Laureta Abazi said that despite the difficulties it faced at the start of the championship as a result of the lack of players, the team is slowly gaining its shape and hopes to win the next three games, two of which will be played at home and one away. “We hope we’ll win and if we do, I think will be the fourth-ranked in the end of autumn championship. It is inevitable to consolidate the team as there are no more experienced players among us, which will help us to repeat last season’s result in the spring season. The match in Kichevo was the derby match between the two Albanian teams in the league. Even though we were favorites, this match wasn’t easy for us. We started the game quite well, so everything worked properly, and we won”, said the manager Asst. PhD Laureta Abazi.
The next match of the ninth round of the national volleyball championship for women, VC “University of Tetova” will play at home, on Saturday, December 8, 2018, against VC “Viktoria Volej – Strumica”.
