A second-cycle student at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Tetova, Florenta Jonuzi, has been awarded second prize in the competition for the best scientific research papers in the field of the capital market for 2026, organized by the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Florenta Jonuzi was recognized for her paper titled “The Dynamics of Volatility and the Macroeconomic Determinants of Stock Market Returns”, which analyzes the impact of macroeconomic factors on the movement of returns and the level of volatility in the stock market.

According to the evaluation of the commission, the research provides important insights into understanding the behavior of financial markets and investment trends, making a valuable contribution to the fields of financial analysis and capital market research.

On the occasion of the award ceremony, a meeting was held with the winning authors, attended by Bujare Abazi, President of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and Merale Fetahi–Vehapi, Chairperson of the Board for the Evaluation and Selection of Papers.

For her achievement, Florenta Jonuzi received a cash award of 50,000 denars (net). This success represents significant recognition of her work and scientific commitment, demonstrating the potential of young researchers to contribute to the development of economic and financial knowledge in the country.

The annual awards for young researchers were presented for the seventh consecutive year as part of an initiative by the Securities and Exchange Commission aimed at promoting scientific research, financial education, and the involvement of young people in the study of financial markets.
