At the second conference of the Center for Peace and Transcultural Communication, held in Chicago, United States of America, the ambassador, diplomat and architect of the Ohrid Framework Agreement, James W. Pardew, after attending the proceedings of the conference, also promoted his book “PEACEMAKERS” – Lessons from the Balkans.

American diplomat James W. Pardew, during the promotion of his book, which mainly deals with his experiences in the Balkans and in particular for the negotiations of the Balkan countries in the solution of certain contexts, he spoke about the role of the international community in this sensitive part of the world.

He welcomed the cooperation between the University of Tetova and Northern Illinois University. According to him, the opening of the Center for Peace and Transculutural Communication by both universities is vital for institutions in the Republic of Macedonia and the development of society in general, considering that in the near future with the support of the United States of America, its role will be special in promoting democratic values.

He said that for the University of Tetova, the cooperation whit the Northern Illinois University is the most vital cooperation, because University of Tetova is one of the most vital institutions in the Balkans, which works for the development of many processes, in particular those with educational character. “This deep gratitude comes as a result of the continuous engagement of Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti in building the University, for the positive role that plays for the benefit of the wider community in the Republic of Macedonia and in the region, promotion of genuine academic and social values as well as university cooperation at the global level”- said the American diplomat James W. Pardew.

Among other things, James W. Pardew added that University of Tetova has been very active in different processes and has contributed more than anyone else in advancing the Albanian issue in the Republic of Macedonia.

As a sign of gratitude and respect for the given contribution to the Albanian issue in general and the to the University of Tetova in particular to the American diplomat James W. Pardew, the Vice-Rector for Science of the University of Tetova, bestowed a gift with the portrait of the Albanian national hero Geogre Castriot- Skanderbeg.

After receiving the gift, the American diplomat Pardew, said that this is the most beautiful gift ever given, as he personally knows the history of the Balkan peoples, especially the history of the Albanian people.
