At the University of Tetova began two international scientific conferences. The topic of the 1st Conference of the Faculty of Pedagogy was “Pedagogical Theory and Practice at the Time of Changes”, while the 5th Conference of the Faculty of Philology this year addresses the topic titled “New studies about Language, Literature and Culture”. Over 100 researchers from the fields of pedagogy, linguistics and literature will participate in these conferences.

The Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, in his speech, said that the academic units of our University, as the hubs of education of thousands of students, with their research work, have already qualified as major centers of study in various fields of science. We have gathered to officially open the proceedings of the Fifth Scientific Conference of the Faculty of Philology on the topic “New novelties on the language, literature and culture”, as we will formalize the scientific activity of the new faculty, Faculty of Pedagogy, which opens the way with the organization of the First Scientific Conference on the “Theory and pedagogical practice at the time of changes”.

As we know, albanology, with particular emphasis on philology, is the set of studies that have been made and are made for the history, language, folklore and culture of our people, which have caught the attention of foreign scholars as well. They have become subject of research and study by prominent scholars from different countries of the world. A special contribution to the aforementioned studies is provided by the University of Tetova through the departments of the Faculty of Philology. Well-known historical, political and socio-cultural circumstances the people of the Western Balkans have experienced are a fact that philology has been and remains at the epicenter of scientific studies.

Language and literature, with all their challenges, have historical continuity and through them are more clearly understood the historical values of nations, the common consciousness, psychology and national moral”- said Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti.

As for the next conference of the Faculty of Pedagogy, the Rector, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti, stated that this is equally important, especially for the topic it has presented to researchers and the public. “I think that on the program’s focus is the right topic, alternation of theory and pedagogical practice at the time of changes we undergo them every day. Well-known professors, after many studies in this area, have found that one of the forces that push the individual towards intellectual, cultural and social formation is the educator. The educator is a motivation, it’s a cell of mental, individual and social construction at the same time. Our University prepares exemplary educators that educate entire generations and thus propels the educational, upbringing, scientific and cultural processes in our country and beyond” said among others the Rector of UT, Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ameti.

Dean of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Prof. Dr. Fadbi Osmani, said that the conference of the faculty he administers will address current issues in the area of education, important for the future and the development of society in general. “The purpose of this conference is, inter alia, to gather the experts of the region who deal and discuss the current and important issues for the future of education, the development of society and the individual. In this regard, we make the utmost effort to face the most current challenges: what knowledge and skills should be developed for pupils and students that will be in the function of developing the education system and society in general. We as hosts of this scientific gathering want to open and discuss some of the issues that we think will produce and provide quality not only in university teaching”- emphasized Prof. Dr. Fadbi Osmani.

While the coordinator of the conference of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Prof. Dr. Rabije Murati, said that the very name of the conference “Theory and pedagogical practice at the time of change” indicates the need, relevance and necessity of addressing the various pedagogical and educational problems we face precisely at the time of many requests for change. “Education is the pillar of society and the nation, and as such we can admit that it is stalled, stagnated and that it is not in the position and the place where it should be. Is this stagnation a result of many problems in this social “pillar”? This and many other questions require treatments, research and scientific processing from various experts. Despite numerous attempts to reform the education, we can say that we have not yet managed to change it and adapt it to European tendencies” – added among others Prof. Dr. Rabija Murati.

Regarding the organization of scientific conferences, the Faculty of Philology of the University of Tetova, in addition to the regular international scientific conferences, has so far organized three other symposiums dedicated to the life and work of the First Historical Rector of UT, Prof. Dr. Fadil Sulejmani, national cause, Adem Demaçi, and Albanian humanist, Saint Mother Theresa. According to the Dean of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Fatmir Sulejmani, organizing annual conference programs at the level of study programs, the University of Tetova, although started 5-6 years ago to organize such events, has so far managed to keep the pace, despite the fact that such activities require a lot of work and many finances, more so when it is known that journals that are read through scientific conference sessions are published in respective magazines, thus becoming the property of the times and the generations to come.

“Of course, all this is achieved thanks to the comprehensive support of university leaders, aiming at the continuous progress of the academic teaching process, stimulating the research activity and increasing the level of universal university values. Thanks to this, the Faculty of Philology organizes today the 8th International Scientific Conference in which we have invited scholars from all Albanian areas, who, of course, will bring new novelties in the field of Albanological studies”- uttered Prof. Dr. Fatmir Sulejmani.

The coordinator of the Conference of the Faculty of Philology, Prof. Dr. Izmit Durmishi, announced that during the conference sessions in linguistics sessions will be treated subthemes: Contemporary linguistics and new trends in the comparative field; Text linguistics and translation, while in the literature sessions will be elaborated subthemes: New perspectives of literary studies; Mythical symbols in literature etc. “The conference will have as a subject of studying and promoting the identity values of the nation (language, literature and culture) and will be the affirmative voice of UT here and beyond. The conference sessions will be attended by some 40 scholars and researchers from several university centers from the country and abroad who, with their presence and the topics they will discuss, will advance this noble activity and encourage the young generation on the idea of scientific thought about many unread topics. The conference has set itself the task of discussing and dealing openly with many issues of language, literature and culture that are considered a novelty for the way of treatment and study”- announced Prof. Dr. Izmit Durmishi.

In the solemn opening of the proceedings of scientific conferences were also launched the eighth issue of the International Scientific Journal of the Faculty of Philology, “Filologjia” and the first number of the International Scientific Journal of the Faculty of Pedagogy “Edukimi”.
