As part of the initiative “Psychology in Action – with knowledge and responsibility, by your side”, the first one-day training session for the children’s helpline “Alo Bushavko” was held on October 28, 2026. The activity was organized within the framework of inter-institutional cooperation between the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Tetova and the First Children’s Embassy in the World, “Megjashi”.

The training was attended by second-, third-, and fourth-year students of the study program of Psychology, who had the opportunity to learn about the operation, principles, and responsibilities associated with the children’s helpline. Through this activity, students gained insight into the importance of responsible communication and providing appropriate support to children, with particular emphasis on their rights, needs, and best interests.

The training was led by Jordanka Cerepnalkova Trajkoska, a trainer at the First Children’s Embassy in the World, “Megjashi”, who addressed key aspects of developing professional and practical competencies in communicating with children. Particular attention was given to active listening, a sensitive and responsible approach, and guidance on the relevant mechanisms for supporting and protecting children.

Coordination of the cooperation on behalf of the Faculty of Philosophy is carried out by the coordinating team, composed of Prof. Dr. Sheruze Osmani – Ballazhi, Prof. Dr. Sara Sadiki, and Prof. Dr. Luljeta Bexheti. The team is committed to developing and implementing joint activities aimed at strengthening the connection between students’ academic education and practical experience.

The implementation of this training marks an important step towards putting the “Psychology in Action” initiative into practice and creates opportunities for students to apply the knowledge acquired during their studies in real-life professional and social contexts. At the same time, this activity highlights the importance of cooperation between academic institutions and organizations working in the field of child protection, with the aim of promoting children’s rights and well-being.
