On behalf of the University of Tetova and in my personal name, it is my special pleasure to congratulate the 110th anniversary of the Congress of Manastir – the Albanian language alphabet.
The Congress of Manastir is undoubtedly one of the greatest historical and cultural events of the last century for the entire Albanian people, to whom historians, linguists, ethnologists, Albanian and foreign intellectuals have been referring to and are continually referring, aiming to shed light on the complex historical, political and cultural circumstances of the past period and bring as many facts as possible to this very important event for the Albanian people.

The road, which led to the holding of the Congress of Manastir from 14 through 22 November 1908, was laborious and full of difficulties. The Congress of Manastir was a nationwide assembly that brought together the most prominent figures of our National Renaissance such as Mit’hat Frashëri, Gjergj Fishta, Luigj Gurakuqi, Gjergj Qiriazi, Nikollë Kaçorri, Shahin Kolonja, Fehim Zavalani, Mati Logoreci, Ndre Mjeda , and many others who did their utmost to unify the Albanian language and advance the national cause.

Today, we are bowing in greatest honor before all the actors of this great historical event and it with dignity that we honor the Albanian Alphabet Day on its 110th anniversary.
Happy anniversary of the Albanian language alphabet, happy November holidays….
