The city of Turkey, Istanbul, respectivly the Yskudar Municipality, from April 18 to 20, 2019, visited the graduates of the study program of Special Education and rehabilitation of the Faculty of Pedagogy of UT.
The professors of this study program emphasize that by recognizing the achievements and successes of exemplary experts from Turkey, who often visit our countries to provide knowledge and share their experiences with Albanian professionals and students, we decided to implement one study excursion, so that our students get acquainted with new experiences that will serve in their professional future.
The agenda of the study visit of UT students and professors began with the official reception by the Mayor of Yskydari Municipality, Hilmi Türkmen and the Director of District Education in this city. After this important meeting, they visited some centers and schools that they provide services for people with special needs, where they had the chance to get acquainted with the programs they apply, the treatment and medicaments used for the treatment of persons with special needs.
From the state institutions that our students visited and were closely acquainted with their activity, can be distinguished: Special Vocational Training School, where people with special needs choose and orient themselves for their profession to be employed in the future; Primary and Secondary School for Blind People; school for Multiple Damage Students “Turkan Sabanci” and a day care center for people with special needs “Engelsiz Yaşam Merkezi” etc.
At the end of the visit to the Republic of Turkey, in Yskudar, respectively at the Vocational Training School, was held a seminar on autism and brains, treatment and techniques for the behavior of children with autism. In this seminar lectured specialists Ümit Savaş Taşkesen and Imail Tuna, who had traveled from Konya only for the students of the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation of the University of Tetova.
Also, some of the students had the opportunity to observe scientific sessions by Ahmet Yalçın Hocaoğlu, who applies a rare and highly effective approach to children with autism.
Vice-Dean of Education of the Faculty of Pedagogy, Prof. Dr. Bunjamin Memedi, the study visit to Turkey, considers it important for students who come back with new knowledge of how to handle people with special abilities. He also thanked the leaders of the University of Tetova that made possible the realization of this excursion, as well as the Muftiate of the Islamic Community in Tetovo, respectively Prof. Dr. Qani Nesimi, who supported the study tour of UT students in the Republic of Turkey.
