In the premises of the Cultural Center in Struga (May 30, 2026), the traditional exhibition of graduates from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Tetova was opened, titled “Gjurmë”- “Traces”, an artistic event that represents the culmination of the students’ academic journey and at the same time marks their entry into the professional world of contemporary art. The exhibition was conducted under the care and mentorship of Professor Mixhait Pollozhani, who for years, has contributed to the artistic and professional development of new generations of creators.

The opening ceremony was moderated by student Diellza Idrizi, who invited Art History professor Jëlldëz Asani to give the welcoming speech. In her address, she appreciated the role and contribution of Professor Pollozhani in the education of students, emphasizing his tireless dedication to supporting their creative processes and professional development.

“Despite the many challenges that have accompanied art education over the years, Professor Mixhait Pollozhani has always stood by the students, guiding, motivating, and supporting them in their creative journey. His commitment has been decisive in the formation of many young artists and in the organization of important cultural activities such as this exhibition”, emphasized Professor Jëlldëz Asani, also underlining the importance of presenting artworks to the public in an institutional space such as the Cultural Center in Struga. According to her, presenting oneself to the public through an exhibition is an important act of artistic affirmation that requires courage, self-confidence, and professional responsibility. Each exhibited work, she said, represents not only the technical skills of the author but also their creative identity, academic experience, and artistic vision.

In continuation, Professor Mixhait Pollozhani thanked the students for their cooperation, seriousness, and dedication shown during the process of creating the artworks. He expressed pride in the results achieved and confidence that this exhibition represents only the beginning of a long and successful journey in the field of art and culture.

A special conceptual dimension to the exhibition was also given by the catalogue foreword, written by student Nurten Zeqiri, who reflects on the symbolic meaning of the title “Traces”. According to her, art represents the indelible mark that a person leaves in time through emotions, thoughts, and various forms of creative expression. She emphasizes that art transcends the boundaries of individual mediums and becomes a universal language of communication, capable of connecting human experiences across space and time.

The exhibition presented the public with a wide range of artistic works, including painting, graphic design, digital art, poster art, and conceptual art projects. The exhibited works reflect the students’ academic and creative development throughout their years of study, demonstrating their professional level and their continuous search for new forms of artistic expression.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, Professor Mixhait Pollozhani officially declared opened the exhibition “Gjurmë”-“Traces”  and congratulated the young artists Trëndelina, Elin, Eloni, Albina, Afrona, Anila, Arbnora, Ermonela, Hatixhe, Riana, Valdrin, and Yllza—wishing them continued success, uninterrupted inspiration, rich creativity, and new achievements in their professional careers.

At the same time, it reaffirmed the role of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Tetova as an important institution in the education, promotion, and affirmation of young talents on the Albanian artistic scene and beyond.
