As part of the 20th Jubilee Edition of the International Seminar of Albanology, the University of Tetova organized the National Academic and Scientific Book Fair on September 30 and October 1, 2026, bringing together academic, scientific, archival, and publishing institutions from across the Albanian-speaking world.

The Fair brought together the Academy of Sciences of Albania, the General Directorate of Archives, the State Agency of Archives of Kosovo, the “Ali Hadri” Institute of History, the Pedagogical Institute of Kosovo, the Institute of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage of the Albanians in Skopje, the Institute for Albanian and Protestant Studies, “Logos-A” Publishing House, “Toena” Publishing House, the Albanological Institute of Prishtina, and the University of Tetova.

At the opening of the Fair, Vice-Rector for Science Prof. Dr. Agon Memeti emphasized that the event was not conceived simply as a book exhibition, but as a “meeting of written knowledge”- a space where academies, universities, institutes, archives, and publishing houses present their work and build new bridges of cooperation. He also stressed that, in an era of rapid technological development and artificial intelligence, we must remember that “information is not necessarily knowledge,” as knowledge requires methodology, argumentation, sources, verification, scholarly criticism, and academic responsibility.

The Fair gained particular significance from the fact that the presentation of the publications was held at the Memory Corner “Fadil Sulejmani”, a space named after a figure inextricably linked to the history and founding of the University of Tetova. In his address, Prof. Dr. Agon Memeti emphasized that, precisely in a place where the memory of those who believed in knowledge and education is preserved, the presentation of scholarly works takes on an even deeper symbolism: “This is how the past, present, and future of our University come together: memory that reminds us of where we come from, the book that documents what we know, and scientific research that guides us toward what we have yet to discover”.

As part of the program, Prof. Shezair Rrokaj’s book, Auguste Dozon and His Work, was presented, along with publications by the State Agency of Archives of Kosovo, the “Ali Hadri” Institute of History, and the General Directorate of Archives.

The Fair created a shared space for books, scientific research, and inter-institutional cooperation, with the aim of ensuring that the connections established at the University of Tetova continue through joint projects, publishing initiatives, and new scholarly collaborations.
