The visit took place in the office of the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, who highly appreciated the institutional cooperation with international partners and the exchange of experiences aimed at improving the quality of higher education.

The meeting between the Rector, Prof. Dr. Jusuf Zejneli, and Professor Lofton was held in a friendly atmosphere, where they discussed possibilities for expanding future cooperation in the field of law, developing practical programs for students, and advancing contemporary teaching methods. On this occasion, it was emphasized that the University of Tetova is open to initiatives that build bridges of communication with prestigious international universities and institutions.

As part of this visit, special attention was given to the importance of practical legal education and the development of a professional culture of argumentation, ethics, and legal debate. It was emphasized that mock trial programs help students develop analytical and professional skills, preparing them for the real challenges of the judicial and administrative system in the country.

The meeting also focused on the social responsibility of academic institutions and the role of universities in promoting civic values, environmental protection, and sustainable development. It was emphasized that modern universities are not only centers of knowledge, but also institutions that contribute directly to the advancement of social and democratic awareness.

Professor Jim Lofton is a well-known name in American legal circles. He served for more than 27 years as an attorney in the U.S. Department of Justice, where he handled complex federal cases and matters of special institutional importance. Later in his career, he held the position of Assistant Chief Counsel for Airports and Environmental Law at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), leading professional training programs for hundreds of lawyers and experts within the American federal administration.

His experience in the fields of environmental law, aviation, and practical legal advocacy was also reflected during the activities organized at the University of Tetova, where students and academic staff had the opportunity to attend professional lectures, thematic discussions, and mock trials, which have now become an important component of the practical preparation of students at the Faculty of Law.

Special support for the organization of this visit and the academic activities was also provided by the Embassy of the United States of America in North Macedonia, which remains an important partner in promoting academic cooperation, advancing legal culture, and strengthening ties between American educational institutions and universities in the country.
