University of Tetova participates in the 5th Nationwide Academic and Scientific Book Fair, taking place in Tirana (April 22–24, 2026), thereby confirming its role in the development and promotion of scientific knowledge in the Albanian-speaking sphere.

At this important event, the University of Tetova was presented with two publications of particular value: the book “Orthodox Albanians in the Republic of North Macedonia” and the scientific journal “Filologjia”, presenting concrete contributions to Albanological and philological studies to the public.

During the promotion of the book, the Dean of the Faculty of Philology of the UT, Prof. Dr. Emine Shabani, presented the review of the work “Orthodox Albanians in the Republic of North Macedonia”, prepared by Prof. Dr. Vullnet Ahmeti, Vice-Rector for Science at the University of Tetova. On this occasion, it was emphasized that this work represents more than a scientific study; it is an effort to shed light on an important dimension of Albanian identity, often left on the margins of research.

According to him, addressing the history and identity of Orthodox Albanians in North Macedonia contributes to a deeper understanding of the complexity of national identity, viewing it as a rich cultural and historical mosaic. The work also aims to encourage reflection and dialogue, contributing to the development of a more inclusive approach to Albanian history and identity in a regional context that is often complex.

As part of the ongoing activities, Prof. Dr. Emine Shabani also presented the scientific journal “Filologjia”, highlighting its role as an established platform for publishing scientific research in the fields of linguistics, literature, and culture. She emphasized that the journal, founded in 2013, has succeeded in building a strong academic profile thanks to high scholarly standards and a rigorous peer-review process by international reviewers.

“Filologjia” is indexed in well-known international databases such as Google Scholar, EBSCO, and ERIH PLUS, ensuring broad visibility and impact within the scientific community. In this context, it was emphasized that a continuing objective remains the further enhancement of quality and inclusion in prestigious databases such as Scopus and Web of Science.

Through these and dozens of other publications, the University of Tetova contributes to the advancement of scientific research, transforming itself into a center of communication between Albanian academic institutions and international ones.

Participation in this fair is not only an institutional presentation but also concrete evidence of the University of Tetova’s role as an important center of knowledge, serving the cultural and scientific development of society.
