In this important anniversary of the University of Tetova, where participants were a large number of distinguished personalities in various fields, Rector Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti started his speech with deep thanks and gratitude to all the students, who 28 years ago, with exemplary courage and without any hesitation, became the most vital pillar of the first higher –education hub in the Albanian language in these area. They became the protagonists, missionaries, torchbearers and main bearers of the platform of the University of Tetova, founded by Albanian intellectuals headed by the first and historic Rector, Prof. Dr. Fadil Sulejmani.
He also expressed his deep respect for the martyr of Albanian education, Abdilselam Emini, whose blood became the light of knowledge on the road to the building of the University of Tetova. Special honor goes for our brothers also, who helped and served the University, transforming their houses into university auditoriums, where the first students of this institution were educated, gained knowledge and were professionally trained. We never forget the efforts of the Albanian families, who contributed to the establishment of our University. After 28 years of unstoppable work, the University of Tetova has turned into a real center of education and training, not only in Macedonia, but also in the region. In this temple of knowledge, today are studying young men and women from our country, Republic of Albania, Republic of Kosovo, Presheva Valley and the entire Albanian diaspora. Together with their distinguished professors, they have left an indelible mark on the most important processes that the University of Tetova has gone through, from the foundation, the beginning of the first lectures to the period after the officialization, integration and progress of the University. With special piety, we also remember the contributors, who are no longer among us, wishing for their work to be eternal. During this academic year, our University has achieved significant results in all areas and has managed to achieve its main goals and mission as a higher-education institution in our country”, – said the Rector of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti.
The Minister of Education and Science in our country, Jeton Shaqiri, in his speech addressed to the participants in this academy, said that the University of Tetova is a national pride, a hub of quality staff that is successfully integrated into all segments of society and the greater part of them, by showing leadership skills, contribute to creating positive changes and moving the country forward. “It is important to make it easier for the new generations to study here. Gone are the days when teaching was organized in difficult conditions, insufficient literature fund, and lack of financial support during teaching and so on. Today, all the necessary conditions are provided. Today the university has a contemporary environment, modern amphitheater, reading rooms, laboratories. It organizes studies in all three cycles. There is a developed network of cooperation with other educational institutions, with the business sector, various organizations, etc. There are available different types of scholarships for students, which are awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science through its program for student standards, as well as other funders, while the means for the conduction of research-scientific projects are also available”,- said the Minister of Education and Science, Jeton Shaqiri.
In this academy, the University of Tetova promoted several generations of PhD students who over the years have finished their studies at our university. Today they officially accepted the diplomas from the Rector Prof. Dr. Kushtrim Ahmeti.
On behalf of all the graduates, with occasion speech addressed Dr. Vegim Zhaku, who said that regardless of sacrifice, desire and will, the realization of the goal remains crippled if there are no individuals who are seasoned for the continuity of the processes essential to our nation. “Like the field of my PhD, which has to do with the reproduction and continuation of the species, so these individuals with ideology, intelligence, vigilance selected from among us the best students, to be part of the staff, and for this I sincerely thank I am the leadership of the University of Tetova, without whom even these doctoral studies could not proceed further, and this has to do with the foresight and vision that these individuals have, because we know that the mind (reason) is a source of important knowledge, while foresight, a serious source of culture. It is quite difficult, even impossible, for a man with reason but no foresight to get anywhere with what he knows, even if he knows many things and understands many things. With the completion of these third cycle studies, it was possible to open new horizons and ranges, but also responsibilities for correctness, transparency, work, knowledge, dedication, because the development and progress of a nation depends on the ideological education of its individuals”- said Dr. Vegim Zhaku.
In the framework of the scientific research activity of our University, there were given gratitude’s to the coordinators of two projects at the international level, which have successfully completed the year we are leaving behind.
