Today, the University of Tetova welcomed a group of students and professors from the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz in Poland, who were participants in the international project “EU Aspirations Exchange: Learning from a Candidate Country”, carried out as part of the project’s second mobility, which aims to bring together different perspectives on Europe and the European Union.
They first met with the Vice-Rector for Science of the University of Tetova, Prof. Dr. Agon Memeti, accompanied by Asst. Prof. Dr. Hatibe Deari Zeqiri and MSc. Donika Kamberi from the Office for International Relations. During the meeting, the delegation from Poland was introduced to the history and development of the University of Tetova, its study programmes, and its academic and scientific activities, with particular emphasis on the Faculty of Law.
The activity then continued at the premises of the Legal Clinic of the Faculty of Law, where professors from the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Fatmir Xheladini, Vice-Dean for Science and Coordinator of the Legal Clinic, Asst. Prof. Dr. Njomza Selimi, and Prof. Dr. Vlona Pollozhani, delivered presentations and discussed European integration, identity, values, European law, as well as the challenges and prospects of candidate countries in the process of accession to the European Union.
The professors and students from Poland also visited the University of Tetova campus, where they had the opportunity to become acquainted with the university facilities and infrastructure, as well as to exchange experiences with university representatives.
This project brings together young people from Poland, an EU Member State, and North Macedonia, an EU candidate country, creating a space for dialogue and intercultural exchange on their shared European future.
Through these activities, the project aims to empower young people as informed, critical, and active citizens in democratic and social processes.
